Associate Professor Richard Matthews AM (Chair) 

Dr Richard Matthews is the former Deputy Director-General of the Strategic Development Division at NSW Health. Until June 2007, Richard carried a dual role as Deputy Director-General NSW Health and Chief Executive of Justice Health.

He commenced his career in general practice and was in full time practice from 1979 until 1998. He developed a special interest in drug and alcohol and worked for many years at St. Vincent’s Hospital Rankin Court Methadone Stabilisation Unit.

 A/Prof Elizabeth Chalmers  

Associate Professor Elizabeth Chalmers FACRRM, FAFPHM, FChAM

Associate Professor Elizabeth Chalmers is a nominee of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. She is also the Chair of the Northern Territory Postgraduate Medical Council and of the board of the Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils (CPMEC). Elizabeth has made a solid contribution to rural GP training, public health and Indigenous health matters.

 Kearon

 

Dr Ruth Kearon MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Ruth Kearon has a general practice background and has worked in urban, regional and rural areas in Tasmania and Western Australia. Ruth currently works with Health Workforce Australia providing clinical advice on national health workforce planning. She has previously provided health policy advice to Federal and State Health Ministers.

Prof Michael Kidd AM, MBBS, MD, DCCH, Dip. RACOG, FRACGP, FACHI, FAFPM (Honorary), FHKCFP (Honorary), FRNZCGP (Honorary), FCGPSL (Honorary), MAICD

Professor Michael Kidd AM is a general practitioner and executive dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Flinders University. He is a past president of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the president-elect of the World Organization of Family Doctors (Wonca) and the Patron of the General Practice Students Network.

Ms Glenda Humes

Ms Glenda Humes is a nominee of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) as appointed by the Minister for Health.

 

 David Watts  

Dr David Knowles MBBS, FRACGP, DCH

Dr David Knowles is currently the Chair of the Tasmania Faculty of RACGP and works in clinical practice at Lauderdale Doctors Surgery, just outside Hobart. David has an ongoing commitment to medical education and assessment having worked as a medical educator with WAGPET and GPEA, and has been assessment panel Chair for WA and Tasmania RACGP Faculties and recently Chair/Director of General Practice Training Tasmania.

 

 Michael Taylor

Dr Michael Taylor MBBS, DCCH, FRACGP, GMAICD

Dr Michael Taylor was nominated by Australian General Practice Network. Dr Taylor is a practising GP and is Medical Director at the Adelaide Hills Division of General Practice. Michael is an experienced board member, having held positions on the boards of the South Australian Division of General Practice Inc. (SADI) and the Australian General Practice Network.

 Eve Tsironis  

Dr Eve Tsironis MBBS (Hons Syd), FACRRM, FRACGP

Dr Eve Tsironis grew up in Sydney in a Greek immigrant family and moved to Coonabarabran in 1997, where she has been a principal of a private practice and VMO at the local district hospital. Dr Tsironis trained at the University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Eve has served on the Council of AMA (NSW), the management committee of RDA (NSW), the strategic development sub-committee of the NH&MRC and the Medical Services Committee of NSW. She holds the FACRRM and FRACGP and is a registrar supervisor and examiner for both colleges.

Eve has recently relocated her family to Sydney and has established a new Medical Practice in the lower North Shore suburb of Cammeray.

Eve is an adjunct senior lecturer at both University of Sydney and University of Notre Dame, and values medical education. Her interests include emergency medicine, woman and child health and chronic disease management. 

 

 David Watts  

Mr David Watts BA, LLB, MIPAA

David Watts is a lawyer with both public and private sector experience. Formerly the Assistant Secretary, Legal Branch, Department of Health and Ageing and Director Legal Services of the Victorian Department of Human Services, he has been closely involved with key regulatory reforms in the health sector including e-health, public health and health practitioner regulation. David's professional interests include intellectual property, information and international law. He is currently the Victorian Commissioner for Law Enforcement Data Security and Acting Privacy Commissioner.

 

 

 

A/Prof Morton Rawlin BMed, MMedSci, FRACGP, FACRRM, DipBusAdmin, DipPractDerm, DipFP, DipMedHyp

General practioner in Melbourne. Involved in GP training for almost 20 years having been a GP supervisor, educator and then RACGP Director of Education. Interests are in education standards, assessment and traning in the continuum of medical careers.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr Georga Cooke BSc, MBBS (Hons), GAICD, FRACGP

Dr Georga Cooke is a recent fellow of the RACGP, having graduated from the AGPT program in 2012. During her general practice training at CSQTC, she also worked as the registrar liasion officer at her training provider and as the Registrar Research and Development Officer for GPET. In her appointment at Bond University, Georga's interest in research and education are focused on evidence-based practice and health policy.
